An Everyday Aussie Chick
with a Big Heart and a Bigger Vision
“If you’ve ever felt like you’re running on empty,
trying to juggle a million things at once and
never quite having time for yourself, I get it. I’ve
been there too…”
HELLO! I AM JUST ME
...Sonya 🤍
I'm a mum. A daughter.
A sister. An animal lover.
A volunteer. A business owner.
A coffee lover.
And above all...
I'm just me.
A regular woman doing her best to navigate this roller coaster called life.
Corny? Maybe.
But real? Absolutely.
And if you're anything like me, you've probably spent years looking after everyone else while quietly putting yourself at the bottom of the list.
Again.
And again.
And again.
Sound familiar?
This I Why I Created
101 YOU DO YOU
The Academy is for women like us.
Women who are carrying the mental load.
Women who give so much to everyone else that they forget to care for themselves.
Women who are exhausted from being everything to everyone.
Women who know they need to make themselves a priority...
But aren't quite sure where to start.
Because here's what I've learned:
Self-care isn't selfish.
It's necessary.
Prioritising yourself isn't a luxury.
It's foundational.
And becoming who you truly want to be?
That starts by putting yourself back on your own list.
My Rollercoaster Ride to "Doing Me"
For as long as I can remember, I've struggled with my weight.
It felt like Groundhog Day.
Lose five kilos.
Gain ten.
Promise myself I'd start again on Monday.
Repeat.
I tried everything.
But the problem was never really food.
The problem was that I never put myself first.
I was emotionally eating.
Skipping meals.
Bingeing at night.
And yes...
Donuts were my weakness.
I looked after myself in little ways.
The occasional pedicure with Mum and my daughter.
A coffee here and there.
But I wasn't asking myself the deeper questions.
What do I need?
What do I want?
Who am I outside of all my responsibilities?
Honestly?
I didn't have time to think about any of that.
I was simply doing what had to be done.
Rolling through life with the volume turned down on who I really was.
Then Something Changed
In 2015, I met a friend through a friend.
She had similar struggles to me, and together we decided to focus on our health.
Well...
What I really mean is we decided to try the whole weight-loss thing again.
We started walking.
Working out in the garage.
Talking about life.
Talking about everything.
And for the first time in a long time, I felt like I was moving forward.
Not for anyone else.
For me.
Around the same time, my marriage came to an end.
It was one of the hardest things I've ever experienced.
But strangely, it also created space.
Space to rediscover myself.
Space to focus on me.
I kept going.
Even when it was hard.
Over the next 18 months, I lost 40 kilos.
But more importantly...
I found myself again.
What I Know Now
Life didn't suddenly become perfect.
I've still had ups and downs.
I've gained weight back.
I've fallen into old habits.
I've had moments where life felt overwhelming.
Because that's life.
But the difference now is this:
I know how to reset.
I know how to protect my mental energy.
I know how to course-correct before things spiral.
And I know that looking after myself isn't selfish.
It's one of the most important things I can do.
The Unexpected Leap
Completely out of curiosity (and because I love a challenge), I completed my Certificate IV in Weight Loss Management.
To be honest, it had been a very long time since I'd sat exams or completed assessments.
But the course reinforced something I'd already learned through my own experiences:
Consistency matters.
Self-advocacy matters.
Community matters.
Funny enough, I'd spent years encouraging everyone else to put themselves first while failing to do the same for myself.
These days, I don't aim for perfection.
I simply try to live by my own principles most of the time.
And when life happens?
I reset.
Because progress always beats perfection.
Life by Design, Not Default
I've had a good life.
A life filled with gratitude and many beautiful experiences.
I have no regrets.
But there were still times when I felt like I was simply existing.
Going through the motions.
Living on autopilot.
Groundhog Day.
Wake up.
Go to work.
Look after everyone.
Go to sleep.
Repeat.
Maybe you've felt that too.
If so, I want you to know something:
It's not too late.
It's not too late to put yourself first.
It's not too late to create healthier habits.
It's not too late to feel like YOU again.
Life is a roller coaster.
The beauty lies in embracing the ride.
And maybe...
Just maybe...
It's finally your turn.
MAKE YOURSELF A NO. 1 PRIORITY

Oh, one more thing, if I were a retired millionaire (I have a full-time day job) I would have this complimentary! Reality is I am neither of the above lol and I have tried to make this as affordable as possible with a heap of value.
On that note....
I would love for you to join us!
